A newer, darker album is coming up. Halloween (and Frankie's birthday) looms, and what better way to celebrate than a flailtastic mini frerard (fang!)bang? The challenge, should you choose to accept it: vampire frerard, 5k word minimum. Deadline? Halloween, of course!

Rules for Writers: 

• Make it Frerard. (Friendship is fine, as long as their relationship is the focal one.)
• Bring on the vampirism. Either for one or both (or neither, if you can manage to still have vampires in some way affect a large component of the story elements instead -- such as running away from a vampire compound, or someone is delusional and believes that they're a vampire, etc..) 
• 5,000 word minimum. More is fine. (4,968 words would qualify as 'close enough'; use your judgement.)
• Other supernatural creatures are permitted, as long as there is vampirism
• Please have your work beta-read before the final submission
• Basic teaser/summary/blurb submitted to the designated post by Oct 15th

Artist Signup & How Graphics / Art Will Be Done:

• By Oct 15th, submit the following to the designated signup post:
  • any restrictions (e.g., "minimum gore", or "can't draw folds/drapery; naked is better")
  • any preferences / specialties (e.g., "forensics level bloodspatters", or "movie-poster-photomanips")
• Feel free to include samples to illustrate your particulars along with your written specifications.

The hope is that if an artist can rock Victorian garb, we'd want to be able to pair them with the historical or steampunk vampire story of their dreams. 

In the event of disparity between sign-up numbers:

• Too Many Authors: while there would potentially be a slight delay, this shouldn't be a problem. Ninja-artists are in the wings for this potential situation.
• Too Many Artists: assuming that the disparity is not overwhelming, artists with less time would be 'paired', and assigned to work on given stories together.

Additional note to writers: If you have a specific artist that you know is already psyched and on-board to provide visuals for your story (or if you wish to provide your own!) please say so in your blurb/summary so that moderators know not to assign an artist to you from the sign-up pool.

Additional note to artists: If for any reason an artist cannot complete the work in time, or encounters an element they had not thought to mention but are uncomfortable illustrating, please let a moderator know ASAP, and we will work with you by either assigning one of our ninja backup-artists (in the event of unexpected time constraints), or by assigning you as a secondary artist to another work -- with ninja backups still at hand to cover whatever work you felt uncomfortable filling in for, allowing you to still contribute if the issue was not a lack of sufficient time but instead one of artistic comfort zones.
